"For adequate protection of nature, it is important that our every citizen is aware of the importance of nature conservation, said the President of Municipality, and recalled the fact that in Serbia, only six percent of the territory is under protection. The aim is that in the future we should increase the number of protected areas because it is not just a European standard that must be achieved if Serbia wants to become an equal member of international community, it is also the national interest. That's why we launched the activity- said Boban Džunić, president of Municipality of Palilula, in order to review and appropriate safeguards which will include mountains Seličevica and Batušinačke bare. For this Boulders Rhodope mountain mass, which is very rich in resources, unique natural beauty, characteristic relief, rich flora and fauna and complex stagnant, known as "Batušinačke bare" which lies beside the old bed of the South Morava river in the village of Mramor, and Batušinac, it is necessary to conduct a study in order to protect and preserve the value of this area. I expect the initiatives of our community to be perceived, and that the competent authorities and institutions will make a conclusion and appropriate solution to protect these areas, said president Džunić. Only the area of LALINAČKE SLATINE were taken with appropriate protection and covered by the Plan of the Institute for Nature Protection.

Numerous activities, which began on 7 April, with lectures on the importance and need for protection, sustainable use and management of natural resources and environmental education, marked the Day of nature - said Sasa Tončev, Director of Elementary School "Kole Rasic." "Children want to show everything they have worked during the week to see the parents, to see the citizens, neighbors and enjoy a round of this school. We are one of the safest schools which provide quite a solid education for our children. But we want them to show the importance of nature conservation and landscaping the area in which they live and work. We are supporting our community of Palilula and president Boban Džunić encourages us in achieving this goal.

"If we do not protect the environment we will have badly conditions for life-emphasized the Mayor of Municipality of Palilula. We, in Palilula have recently completed a project with the support of EU titled "Living Green - Green Living," recalled Boban Džunić. We were able to reduce the number of illegal dumps, but here every morning, every day we hear an objection. He urged the media to join the activities of the municipality and to look at the actions of irresponsible persons. It is important to enable our children to understand the significance of environmental protection. We now give a good example and a good example is the content of the work of this school, which empowers young people.
